What does tear strength mean?

Accepted Answer

Tear strength describes the quality of our PE, PVC and polyester tarpaulins. The higher the tear strength, the more resistant and robust our tarpaulins are and the harder they are to damage. A sample piece of material for each of our products is tested by the renowned testing institute Hansecontrol using a stretch test. The test indicates how much force is required to tear the material. The tear strength is a meaningful quality feature for our tarpaulins and allows you to make a reliable comparison between different products.

Can you send me a sample piece of tarpaulin?

We're happy to send you samples of PE or PVC material. For pop up gazebos, we can also provide colour samples. Simply write an e-mail to service@alltents.com and state the article number of the tent you're interested in. Please also state your delivery address, e-mail address and telephone number. Please have the article number of the tent you're interested in to hand. The article number can be found on the article page under the product name.

Do you provide printing onto gazebo tarpaulins?

We don't provide gazebo printing ourselves. You can order this from a specialised printer once you have received the product.

Why are mold stains developing on my tent tarpaulin?

Accepted Answer

The development of mold stains can't be explained uniformly. However, the common conditions for the formation of mold are usually cited as follows:

High ambient humidity or indoor humidity (at least 55% relative humidity, usually well above 65%)
Low air circulation (almost always present when mold stains occur)
Possibly certain types of mold, but these could also just be a side effect - this hasn't yet been clarified with certainty.

You can prevent mold stains by:

Airing out your tent regularly
Regularly removing any moisture (e.g., condensation)

We recommend our professional PE/PVC cleaning product to treat and remove mold stains. We cannot guarantee that mold stains will not occur—the external influences described are too complex.

Question 6

Why does condensation build up in my tent?

Unfortunately, it's not possible to completely avoid the build up of condensation in tents. Condensation is caused by a number of factors, including moisture released from the ground, from people, and from the air itself. As air cools, it holds less water, causing droplets to form on the tent surface and tent poles.

Can I buy extra roof supports for my marquee?

The roof supports of the PRO Plus and PRO Ultra models are not compatible with the roof frame of a PRO Smart tent.

Can I use cable ties instead of bungees for installing a marquee tarpaulin?

Accepted Answer

We advise you not to use cable ties instead of bungees. Cable ties lack the necessary flex that our bungees offer. The use of cable ties can lead to tearing of the tarpaulin and / or the eyelets, which would not be covered by the warranty.
